LEADERSHIP 2020: FOUNDATIONS IN LEADERSHIP
LDRSP 2020 - 3 CREDIT HOURS
Course Desctription:
The purpose of this course is to facilitate learning opportunities and experiences that provide students with the knowledge, mind-set and skills to better understand leadership. Through the use of the text, additional readings, activities, and presentations, students will increase their effectiveness as a leader both at the University and in the community. The goal of this course is to increase student awareness and development of leadership skills.

Leadership Practicum
LDRSP 4100, 4 CREDIT HOURS
PREREQUISITE: LDRSP 2020
Course Description:
The purpose of this course is to serve as a companion to the Practicum required for the Leadership Studies minor. As such, this course serves to provide students a forum for processing their Practicum and connecting to previous leadership coursework. Through analyzing their practical experience, students will synthesize theoretical knowledge and application of practical skills employed through the Practicum.
Course Objectives:
- Synthesize leadership concepts with their personal framework and the organization of the practicum site
- Apply theory and coursework to interrogate organizational issues
Leadership Capstone
LDRSP 4750, 3 CREDIT HOURS
PREREQUISITES: LDRSP 2020 AND LDRSP 4100
Course Description:
This advanced undergraduate seminar, as the capstone academic experience in the undergraduate Leadership Studies minor, is designed to be both retrospective and integrative, encouraging the student to synthesize relevant concepts and experiences and to formulate their own informed perspective on the successes and failures of leadership in contemporary society.
Course Objectives:
- Analyze and synthesize leadership literature to address issues in leadership practice within diverse, social and cultural contexts
- Engage in comparative assessments of leadership needs and effectiveness
- To develop and articulate personal statements of leadership

Foundations
Courses that expose students to the foundations of ethical decision making and cultural backgrounds, in addition to exploring how ethics and culture differ, intersect, and influence leadership.
